Do you use Microsoft Outlook? (Thanks to Nigel T. for this tip!)

Microsoft Outlook has introduced a very annoying feature to the Outlook Mail Inbox, with headings 'Focused' and 'Other'. This is very confusing and annoying, giving unwanted sorting of emails. You can rid yourself of the problem by following this process:

Go to the 'Settings' gear button, top right of the 'Outlook Email' page.

  • Click 'Options' from the drop-down list.
  • Next screen click on 'Layout'.
  • Click on 'Focused Inbox'.
  • Click on 'Don't Sort'.
  • Click on 'Save' at the top of the screen.
  • Go back to the original layout.

The Gear Icon

This little image of a 'gear' is very useful to get to know. Microsoft Windows OS and the Mac OS, and lots of websites too, use this symbol to let you know where to change your SETTINGS.

It is in your settings that you can make any program fit your needs. Inside the settings, you can set your own preferences and ensure it does what you want it to do.

The symbol shown here is an example but they come in slightly different shapes, colours and sizes depending on the software/website you're looking at.

It's worth getting to know more about your settings everywhere you go!
