Mahjong - More Information

Our Objectives

  • To play Mahjong for fun!
  • To socialise and make new friends

Meeting Frequency

We continue to meet on Wednesdays but have changed the frequency to weekly due to popular demand. We start promptly at 10.30 am breaking for tea/coffee around 11.30 am and finish around 12.50 pm at Chalfont St Peter Community Centre in the Tony Graham Room.

Ability Level

We currently have a waiting list to enable those members who have recently signed up to become more confident players. Once they are established and happy to lead, we will take on new members. Anyone interested in learning how to play the game of Mahjong is welcome to join the group, from beginners to more experienced players.
Mahjong is a game played with tiles and originated in China. It's a very sociable and fun game played by 3 or 4 people. There is no competition involved as each person plays their own game and any mistakes are easily hidden! Don't worry if you haven't played before. If you have ever played the simplest of card games you will quickly pick up the basics of Mahjong.
This is a friendly group who enjoy each other's company for a morning playing and chatting with a cup of tea/coffee.
