Our Objectives: To meet, read, enjoy and improve our knowledge of poetry and literature!

Meeting Content:  Each person chooses their poem based on a theme, genre or poet e.g. The Snake by D H Lawrence. Each person reads their poem/s aloud in turn and usually follows with their personal responses in terms of the poem’s message and /or expression. Each member is welcomed for his/her own particular interpretation of the poem which, of course, may be quite different from other members’ thoughts! Invariably each member of the group contributes something to each poem if only to confirm they liked/ disliked or found it difficult. A little background to the poet is also considered.
